I am a qualified counsellor with a BACP-Accredited Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling, following my studies at Wealden Institute. I am Registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am additionally a member of its Children, Young People and Families Division.
I have worked for organisations offering counselling to clients with a wide range of issues, including the Survivors of Suicide and Youth Service at Sussex Community Counselling. Recently I’ve undertaken additional training to support my work with survivors of sexual and domestic abuse, and I’m trained and experienced in Pre-Trial counselling.
My extensive experience as a Speech and Language Therapist also equips me to work appropriately and sensitively with clients with a range of communication needs, including language impairment and Autism.
I hold a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Certificate, and full indemnity insurance. I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Data Controller.
Since 2001 I have been a registered Speech & Language Therapist, working for many years in the NHS, and more recently in independent practice. I have almost twenty years’ experience working with children and young people, and more recently, adults with language and communication difficulties. I specialise in supporting people with social communication disorders including Autism. I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT).
